# Installation

Welcome! This guide will walk you through installing and configuring the Developer Intelligence AI plugin for Roblox Studio.

### Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have the following ready:

* Roblox Studio: Ensure you are running the latest version of Studio.
* AI API Key: To power the plugin, you will need a valid API key. You can easily generate and retrieve your key by logging in at [ai.tomdacat.com](https://ai.tomdacat.com/). Keep this key copied and handy, as you will need to paste it into Studio during the setup process.

{% hint style="info" icon="key" %}
Protect your API key with a password when you create it. Make sure you can access it during plugin setup.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="danger" %}
Never share your API key or password. Anyone with your key can use the service and your Credits.

Do not paste your key shared project files, screenshots, or public messages.

If you believe someone has seen your key, rotate it at [ai.tomdacat.com](https://ai.tomdacat.com/).
{% endhint %}

## Step-by-Step Installation & Setup

To fully integrate this powerful tool into your workflow, you will need to set up the plugin. Please carefully follow the step-by-step instructions provided below. Once the installation process is complete, you will be all set to start utilizing Developer Intelligence to streamline your development process.

{% step %}

### Download the Plugin from Parcel

1. Log into your [Parcel](https://parcelroblox.com/) account.
2. Open [My licenses](https://my.parcelroblox.com/).
3. Select [Solarglyph Labs](https://my.parcelroblox.com/store/6941ecd03de84cc66e0dcc82), then choose **Developer Intelligence Pro** or **Developer Intelligence Custom**.
4. Download the plugin from your license page. Keep the downloaded file in a location you can find again.

{% hint style="warning" icon="circle-user" %}
Only products included in your Parcel licenses appear on this page. If Developer Intelligence is missing, confirm that you are using the purchasing account.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Import and Configure in Studio

Because this plugin requires your personal API credentials, you need to configure it *before* officially installing it.

1. Launch Roblox Studio and open any place.
2. Drag and drop the downloaded `.rbxm` or `.rbxmx` file directly into your Workspace (via the Explorer window).
3. Expand the newly imported Developer Intelligence model.
4. Locate and double-click the `apiModule` script to open the editor.
5. Enter your credentials obtained from [ai.tomdacat.com](https://ai.tomdacat.com/)
   {% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Save as a Local Plugin

Now that your API key and password are tied to the tool, you can officially install it into Studio.

Test the connection with a focused request, such as:

{% prompt description="Demo Message" icon="vial" openInAIProviders="false" %}

```markdown
Hello Developer Intelligence what can you do?
```

{% endprompt %}

If the request fails, check for extra spaces in the pasted key or look at [Error codes](/solarglyph-labs/get-started/error-codes.md) for more information.

{% hint style="success" %}
If you receive any response, the setup is complete.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://solarglyph-labs.gitbook.io/solarglyph-labs/get-started/installation.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
